This is in reference to the page one photo in the May 27 issue of Francois Michelin and South Carolina Gov. David Beasley breaking ground for a new Michelin earthmoving/off-the-road tire plant in South Carolina. Why are they here? It's because South Carolina has what they want-a right to work law, a labor force that's easy to train, the land, railways, highways and an appreciation by the people of South Carolina for them being here.
Why is Michelin North America's corporate headquarters in South Carolina? The same reason. See folks, the South is rising again.

TRIB MEMBERS `BEST OF SHOW'
It was nice to read that two companies whose tires were selected Best of the Show in the International Tire and Rubber Association's Retread Appearance Contest in Louisville in April were members of the Tire Retread Information Bureau.
Both Bauer Built Inc. and Purcell Tire Co. are longtime members of TRIB. Maybe that's one more reason why retreaders should join and support the Tire Retread Information Bureau.
