WASHINGTON-To date, seven regional and state dealer groups have scheduled membership meetings during the National Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association convention and trade show in Atlanta, Sept. 4-7. More state organizations are expected to announce such gatherings, according to the NTDRA, which is offering to furnish meeting rooms for them at the Georgia World Congress Center as a means of increasing attendance at the show.
The NTDRA also is making a seminar-type program available for use in these regional and state association meetings in Atlanta. The specifics of the program will be announced later, according to Phil Friedlander, NTDRA executive vice president
Mr. Friedlander, who said he is ``extremely pleased'' at the states' response, believes the meetings could establish a new ``milestone in cooperative efforts'' between the national association and its state and regional counterparts.
Groups that have scheduled such meetings include the:
Alabama Tire Dealers Association;
North Central Tire Dealers & Suppliers' Association;
Missouri Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association;
Florida Independent Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association;
Georgia Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association;
Tennessee and Kentucky Tire Dealers & Retreaders Associations; and the
Texas Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association.
The North Central group has held meetings at the national convention for 10 years.
