David Beasley officially break ground for Michelin North America's first plant devoted exclusively to manufacturing earthmover/off-the-road tires. Located in Lexington, S.C., the new plant is expected to cost between $150 million and $280 million and begin production in 1998. It is part of a five-year Michelin expansion program in South Carolina with a total cost of at least $500 million.
