MONROE, Mich.-To help increase and improve communication between suppliers, technicians and consumers, Monroe Auto Equipment Co. has launched a training program for its customers. Monroe, a division of Tenneco Automotive, said the program is designed to strengthen communication and selling processes for purchasers of its ride control products.
The program includes a 16-page brochure-``Ride Control Effective Communication 96''-which is being used by Monroe's field sales force in training seminars. It offers a general overview of what shocks and struts do, why they may wear out and the damage worn shocks and struts can cause. It also offers methods to improve communication with consumers.
Training sessions detail methods for proper vehicle inspection, the company said, and are aided by a flip chart to help a technician or counter-person in the selling process by providing visual support.
An accompanying manual supplies the Uniform Inspection Guidelines developed by the Motorist Assurance Program (MAP), to help technicians determine when repairs or replacement of shocks and struts are required or should be suggested.
