WASHINGTON-Wholesale prices of truck and bus tires grew slightly in November, from the month before, while those of passenger tires and most other product categories were unchanged, according to the U.S. Labor Department's Producer Price Index. Although flat for the month, wholesale passenger tire prices fell 0.2 percent over the previous three months, but remain 1.8 percent higher than a year ago. Prices of radial passenger tires also were flat, but stand 2.4 percent higher than a year ago.
Truck and bus tire prices rose 0.3 percent in November but were down by the same percentage from a year ago. Though light highway tire prices recorded a one-month gain of 1.4-percent, they were down 3.7 percent from a year earlier.
For the month, wholesale prices of other pneumatic and all solid tires remained flat but were 7.9 percent ahead from the year-ago month.
