    Data View Inc. debuted its Quick Look Vehicle Status (QLVS) software package, a comprehensive tire tracking and analysis tool particularly suited to commercial tire dealers and retreaders. The program, which operates in a Microsoft Windows environment, is highly graphical and easy to use, the company said.

    QLVS has five segments:

    Vehicle and Fleet Management-manages information for each vehicle and the tires on it. Easily forecasts future wear for any giventire on any vehicle and contains a built-in feature for easy field tire inspections;

    Tire Inventory and Tracking-contains detailed information on all tires in inventory;

    Tire Retread and Repair-displays all tires currently being retreaded or repaired;

    Tire Recycle and Disposal-records final disposition of tires, including associated costs and credits; and

    Forecast and Analysis-offers more than 20 different reports to reflect tire performance.

    The SL28-SMARTLift from Rotary Lift, a Dover Industries Co., is said to offer benefits of both in-ground and surface models.

    The in-ground SL28 has a polymer composite housing and seals between the cover plate and flexible entry boot for hoses that make the lift water-tight. The SMARTLift features three-position flip-up adapters that can accomodate vehicles up to 8,000 pounds.

    The company also provides a SMARTLift-Future Kit that allows dealers to first install the polymer composite housing unit and then add internal working components at a later date.

    Tracer Products, a division of Spectronics Corp., has released its Tracerline TP-1680 Tracer-Stick/Dye Lite Master Kit.

    The company said the kit con-tains everything needed to de-tect refrigerant, oil, coolant, ATF and power steering leaks.

    The kit pinpoints the source of a leak with a bright yellow-green fluorescent glow using a 150-watt Tracerline TP-1600 ultraviolet lamp and special dyes.

    The kit also contains six Tracer-Stick capsules, for refrigerant leaks, two control valves, one quick coupler, eight bottles of gasoline engine oil dye, two bottles of ATF/power steering dye, two bottles of engine coolant dye and a pair of UV-absorbing spectacles.

    Myers Tire Supply Co. is distributing a new 1-inch-drive, heavy-duty impact wrench, the IR285-6, from Ingersoll-Rand Co.'s Tool and Hoist Division.

    The IR285-6 has more power-1,450 foot-pounds maximum torque with a 5,000 rpm free speed-and is easier to handle than the model IR281 which it is replacing, Myers said.

    The unit also features a 360-degree swivel inlet, a swept-back side handle and a high-efficiency, six-vane air motor.

    Myers said the IR286-6 has a 6-inch extended anvil. Two other versions also are available: the IR285, with a standard anvil; and the IR285-S6, with a No. 5 spline extended anvil.
