GREENSBURG, Pa.-The Tire Dealers Association of Western Pennsylvania elected Marcia Guttilla of Golden Mile Tire, Monroeville, president during its 38th annual Rubber Ball, Sept. 23 in Penn Hills. The group also installed Bob Roskosh of Martin Tire Inc., Jeannette, as vice president, Joe Rauso, Lockhart Tire & Battery, Pittsburgh, treasurer and Jack Greiner as secretary.

New directors include Ron Brutt, Pat Sheridan, John Spino, Spino Tire Service, Greensburg, and Les Elliott Jr.

Also during the Rubber Ball, the dealer group honored three tire business veterans-Harry Lopes of Greensburg Tire, Bob Legerwood of Moore Tire and John Spino of Spino Tire, all in Greensburg-for their years of service to the association.

    Kan. TDA alters name, bylaws

TOPEKA, Kan.-To reflect the recent inclusion of dealer members from Nebraska, the Kansas Tire Dealers Association will change its name to ``Mid-American Tire Dealers Association.''

The Kansas TDA board voted Oct. 28 on the new regional name, leaving open the possibility of encompassing other Midwest states that may join the group in the future.

The association currently has a dozen members in Nebraska and Executive Director Shawn Herrick surmised it could take a couple of years to fully incorporate Nebraska dealers into the organization. After that, the MATDA may investigate the possibility of enlisting members from Oklahoma, which doesn't have a state association, she said.

The association, which currently has 130 members, will add a seat on the board for Nebraska members and change its bylaws so that the number of Nebraska board posts is proportional to the number of Nebraska members on the roster, Ms. Herrick said.

    NEAID combines gatherings

BURLINGTON, Mass.-Due to poor attendance from its membership, the New England Association of Independent Tire Dealers will merge its fall annual meeting into its annual convention and trade show in the spring.

The annual meeting included a luncheon speaker and awards program, but these activities will now be incorporated into the 1996 convention, slated for March 29-31 in Providence, R.I.

The association also will begin scheduling quarterly social activities next year to generate comradery among the members, according to NEAITD Executive Director Bill Boutwell.

    TRMG taps Rinauro chairman

NEW ORLEANS-The Tread Rubber Manufacturers' Group elected Paul D. Rinauro of Hercules Rubber Co., chairman during its meeting in New Orleans, Oct. 11.

The TRMG will conduct its next meeting during the American Retreaders Association's winter conference, Jan. 12-15 in Tucson, Ariz.
