WASHINGTON-The Motorist Assurance Program (MAP) has issued another of its Uniform Inspection Guidelines, this one on vehicle electrical systems. The guidelines ``help service personnel communicate clearly to ensure customers' understanding and agreement about proposed repair or replacement-before the work is begun,'' MAP President Lawrence S. Hecker said. They were developed by a MAP committee of maintenance and repair professionals drawn from service outlets, manufacturers and other sources, he added.
The new guidelines include:
Battery;
Starter;
Electrochromatic mirror;
Clock;
Cruise control;
Horn/siren;
Keyless entry;
Wiper system;
Alternator/generator;

Passive restraint system; and
Vehicle accessories, including power locks, windows, seats, radio antennas, sliding doors etc.
Copies of the procedures are available at no charge to MAP members or for $9.95 plus $8 shipping and handling to non members.
