PROSPECT, Ky.-Industry consultant and former American Retreaders Association administrator John Wagner has launched a new company that will act as a central resource for management consulting, research, product marketing and seminars. For about 10 years, Mr. Wagner has offered retail management and marketing consultation through his Tire Marketing Service (TMS) in Prospect. But his new firm, Tire Industry Resource Experts (T.I.R.E.), will offer more comprehensive services than TMS offers. TMS will probably become a division of the new venture, Mr. Wagner said.
T.I.R.E. plans to provide dealers, suppliers and associations with: consulting services; customized training for medium to large dealerships; speakers for associations and dealer meetings; a resource of outside consultants in specialized areas; new-product evaluations; and specialized projects, such as national and regional business conferences and seminars.
Mr. Wagner is the firm's president and co-owner with a private investor group.
His first project, due out in December, is a manual, ``Retail Self-Analysis-A Survival Guide for Today's Tire Dealer,'' that is based on a TMS seminar.
T.I.R.E. also plans to assist small companies in launching and marketing new products by contracting with a network of field sales representatives who call on dealerships around the country.
