BOISBRIAND, Quebec-Pierre Longval, owner of Pierre Longval Alignement, died Jan. 29 of cancer at his home in Boisbriand. He was 50. Mr. Longval opened Pierre Longval Alignement about 20 years ago, according to an employee of the dealership. He described Mr. Longval as an excellent boss with a great personality and knowledge of his business and ``everything about cars.''
Mr. Longval was a member of the Association des Specialistes du Pneu du Quebec.
He is survived by his wife, Alice, two daughters and one son.
RAVENNA, Ohio-Frank Rhodes, who bought Ravenna Tire Service in 1949, died May 11 in his Ravenna home after a long illness. He was 85.
Mr. Rhodes was part of the steering committee that founded the Ohio Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association and served as one of its early directors. He was also a member of the National Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association.
Mr. Rhodes retired from Ravenna Tire around 1985, according to his son, Daniel, who has owned the business since then.
Other survivors include his wife Alma, another son and two daughters.
REDWOOD CITY, Calif.-Dorothy ``Dot'' Redfern died Feb. 3 at Nursing Inn in Redwood City, after suffering a stroke. She was 85.
Mrs. Redfern co-founded Redwood General Tire Service Inc. in Redwood City with her husband, Ernie, in 1957. She was the ``entire office staff'' for many years, according to her son, David Redfern, owner and president of the dealership since 1971, and president-elect of the newly named Western States Tire & Automotive Service Association.
Additional survivors include two other sons, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
M. Guy Rousseau
MONT-JOLI, Quebec-M. Guy Rousseau, owner of Vulcanization Eclair in Quebec, died of cancer in Hopital Sanatorium, Mont-Joli, on Feb. 4 at the age of 55.
Mr. Rousseau owned Vulc Eclair Ltd. for about 20 years until Goodyear Canada bought the store from him in 1988, renaming it Rechapex. He remained as manager until 1990. In May 1993, he bought the store back from Goodyear Canada and operated it until his death.
Mr. Rousseau was a member of the Association des Specialistes du Pneu du Quebec.
He is survived by his wife, Marie, and three sons.
