TARRYTOWN, N.Y.-Sponsorship of college football's Carquest Auto Parts Bowl has been renewed for three years, according to auto parts distributor Carquest Corp., and will be aired during prime time. The game, which will be broadcast on Turner Broadcasting System's WTBS network, will be played at Joe Robbie Stadium beginning at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30.
Last year, University of South Carolina beat West Virginia University 24-21 in front of more than 50,000 fans and a television audience of more than 7 million, Carquest said.
Dunlop and ASTA host trucking show
BUFFALO, N.Y.-Dunlop Tire Corp. and the American Sport Truck Association will hold the first Dunlop Sport Truck Series event in Richmond, Ind., Sept. 8-10, the Buffalo-based tire maker said.
The event will include the judging of trucks in several categories, according to David Shelton, Dunlop manager of enthusiast marketing.
Dunlop and ASTA will also be holding Grass Roots Road Shows in Dallas, Washington, Atlanta and Chicago.
BFS introduces apparel program
NASHVILLE, Tenn.-Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. has introduced a new apparel and accessories program called ``In the Driver's Seat.''

Dismar Corp. makes new winter displays

The signs, which can be ordered now for fall delivery, can be purchased as 57-, 36- and 22-piece kits that include posters, pennants, banners and streamers. Items from the kits can also be individually purchased.
The 57-piece kit also includes 17-inch mobiles, which can be hung from the ceiling.

Goodyear expands CompuServe outlet
AKRON-Goodyear's CompuServe electronic outlet is now carrying merchandise with the company's Wingfoot logo, including racing jackets, caps, shirts and inflatable replicas of the blimp.
Using a recently expanded Auto Racing News menu, racing fans can access motor sports schedules, news and driver features, the company said.
Goodyear opened an Internet site (http://www.goodyear.com) in March, which since has been named one of the best business sites on the World Wide Web by the newspaper, Interactive Age.
Tire Rack sponsors Solo II car race
SOUTH BEND, Ind.-The Tire Rack, a mail order supplier of wheels and tires, will be the title sponsor for the next three years of the Solo II National Championship, the largest sports car championship in the U.S.
The Tire Rack Solo II National Championship is scheduled for Sept. 5-8 at Forbes Field in Topeka, Kan.
