BANDAG EXPANDS ETA WARRANTY

MUSCATINE, Iowa-Bandag Inc. enhanced its Emergency Tire Assistance program June 1 by adding a 60-day service call warranty. The new program covers the cost of a replacement tire as well as the tire-related service call for up to 60 days from the purchase of a tire.

``Covering the tire-related service call is an important feature because a service call can cost as much as the replacement tire,'' Bandag said.

Under the program, purchasers will receive ETA Spec Tires for roadside replacements. The Spec Tires include ``four basic designs for drive and trailer positions that cover almost all trucking applications and are available at all participating Bandag dealers,'' the company said. Bandag's Spec Tires are first-time re-treads made from major-brand casings and carry the company's full and ETA Plus 60 warranties.

``If any ETA replacement tire fails in the first 60 days after installation due to faulty materials or workmanship, for any reason other than operational causes, the purchaser receives a refund for the full amount of the tire purchase and the cost of the tire-related service call,'' Bandag said in a news release.

Bandag's regular warranty covers the tire after 60 days have expired, the company said.

The cost of the replacement tire and the tire-related service call will be covered by the dealer providing the original service that failed, according to a Bandag spokesman.
