ATLANTA-Four athletes from Georgia Special Olympics recently had the opportunity to compete with NHRA drivers at the Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Ga., thanks to AlliedSignal Automotive Aftermarket. The events were held in conjunction with the company's Fram Nationals as a tribute to Georgia hosting the 1996 Summer Olympics. Special Olympians and racers challenged each other in a Fram filter toss, relay race and a tug-of-war, then buckled up for a mini race down the drag strip.
At the conclusion, AlliedSignal-manufacturer of aerospace and automotive products-presented $2,000 to the Georgia Special Olympics. In the past, the company also has supported children's wish charities in several states.
