FINDLAY, Ohio-The Environmental Resource Institute (ERI) will host its sixth National Management Conference July 17-21 at the Westin Hotel-O'Hare in Chicago. The conference will focus on environmental, health and safety issues in motor vehicle maintenance and refueling operations.
More than 50 presentations will be given by companies, groups or agencies including EnviroAudit, Safety-Kleen Corp., the National Automobile Dealers Association, General Services Administration, Midas International, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Office of Underground Storage Tanks, and the U.S. Postal Service.
Conference topics will include environmental enforcement, OSHA, wastewater and stormwater control, impact of the Clean Air Act, antifreeze recycling and vehicle washing alternatives.

Brake manufacturer changes its name
STANFORD, Ky.-Brake manufacturer HKM of California Inc. has changed its name to HKM Friction Inc.
The company will continue to maintain a warehouse with extensive inventory in the previous location of its West Coast manufacturing facility in Los Angeles, according to W. Max Sleeth, president.
However, Mr. Sleeth said HKM will now make all its integrally molded and riveted disc brake products in Stanford, where its corporate headquarters are located.
HKM makes a full line of domestic and import disc brakes for cars and light trucks, featuring 100 percent asbestos free formulations.
Perfect Circle boosts `Up Front' program
TOLEDO, Ohio-Perfect Circle's undercar service business builder program, ``Up Front,'' has been expanded with the involvement of Spicer driveline products and Weatherhead hydraulics.
Perfect Circle, a division of Toledo-based Dana Corp., said the program provides service dealers with training manuals and videos, promotional materials and support, pass-through incentives, and discounts on parts assortments and in-class training, all intended to help build strong undercar and driveline service business.
The program includes various NASCAR-related benefits and events; a $5 undercar service rebate through November and a safety inspection incentive running from August through December; half off the normal cost of videos and hands-on chassis system training courses plus free support material for participating service dealers; and promotional support such as customer coupons, ad slicks, banners and other materials.
