FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.-A Fayetteville-based advertising agency received separate awards for work it had done for two family-owned tire dealerships.
Hodges Associates, an advertising, marketing and public relations firm, received an Addy Award from the Fayetteville Area Advertising Federation for a multi-media campaign created for Perry Brothers Tire Service.
The ``Perry Principle'' campaign included six newspaper and four radio ads promoting the company's customer-service image. Perry Brothers is a 61-year-old family business that operates 11 retail locations in Sanford, Dunn, Aberdeen, Rockingham, Smithfield, Oxford, Henderson and Wilmington, N.C., and Danville, Va.
Hodges also received a citation of excellence for a television commercial it produced for Briggs and Sons Tire. Briggs and Sons is a full-service dealership with three locations in Fayetteville and one in Clinton.
Yellow Pages book helps design ads
MADISON, Wis.-Frost Yellow Pages Inc. has produced an update to Thomas J. Frost's 30 Minute Guide to Yellow Pages advertisements titled the 90 Minute Guide.
The guide, retailing for $15.95, offers strategy, copy, layout and
design ideas for developing and using Yellow Pages ads. Mr. Frost said the booklet was written ``to help build confidence of business owners to make intelligent choices'' in their advertising.

Falken Tire creates new Vista poster
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif.-Falken Tire Corp. has created a new, 24-inchx36-inch Vista Tire poster featuring the VX50, VX65F, VS700, VS611 and VS260 high performance radial passenger tires.
Falken has also created a Plexiglass countertop point-of-sale display that exhibits the company's brochures.

Sears Canada offers road hazard program
TORONTO-Sears Canada is offering road hazard protection on Roadhandler and other premium tire lines to its customers through Encino, Calif.-based Auto Road Services Inc.
The company said it will include the service on Goodyear's Weatherhandler lines, as well.
Rice, Jansen receive Dunlop Tire awards
BUFFALO, N.Y.-Dunlop Tire Corp. awarded its Dunlop Tire Professional Athlete of the Year Award to San Francisco 49ers' wide receiver Jerry Rice, during a Feb. 23 awards dinner in Buffalo.
The Amateur Athlete of the Year Award went to Olympic speed skater Dan Jansen, who won a gold medal in the 1,000-meter event last year.
Receiving Dunlop Distinguished Service Awards were:
Diann Roffe-Steinrotter, who won a gold medal at Lillehammer in the women's Super G;
Brooks Robinson, Baltimore Orioles third baseman who was inducted into the baseball hall of fame in 1983; and
Buck O'Neil, a first baseman who played for the Kansas City Monarchs of the Negro National League for 12 years.
