WASHINGTON-In response to member suggestions, the National Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association's Insurance Trust is expanding health care coverage to include vision and preventative health care benefits with no premium increase. As of April 1, the new services will generally provide 80 percent benefit on eye examinations of up to $50, plus a schedule of benefits for the purchase of eyeglasses and contact lenses.
The insurance plan, underwritten by John Hancock Financial Services, also will now provide coverage for routine physicals and annual check-ups, a provision previously only available under NTDRA's Preferred Provider Organization option.
``In recent months we have been personally interviewing NTDRA members covered under the association's insurance program,'' said Marion Smith, the program's administrative director. ``Many dealers find this to be one of the NTDRA's greatest values to members, offering a wide range of benefits, including dental care and life insurance protection for employees and their families.''
