LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill.-Tenneco Automotive has completed the sale of its Tenneco Brake division to James E. Bennett Jr. of Charleston, S.C. Terms were not disclosed.
The division, formed in 1989, was based in Lincolnshire and operated plants in Cartersville, Ga., and Concord, Ontario. The Tenneco subsidiary reported 1994 revenues of $63 million.
It manufactured asbestos-free brake friction products for the automotive and heavy-duty markets, and sold a broad line of brake components and accessories.
The new company, based in Cartersville, will be called Brake Pro Inc. and will continue use of Tenneco Brake's well-known brand name and product lines.
Principal corporate officers are Mr. Bennett, president, and William J. McManus, vice president and chief financial officer.
