AKRON-Goodyear has named Al Eastwood, formerly vice president of replacement sales, to vice president of marketing for the North American Tire region, replacing Barry Robbins, who has resigned to pursue other business interests. ``Barry Robbins helped spearhead our successful effort to rebuild the equity in the Goodyear name over the past three years...,'' said Sam Gibara, executive vice president of North American Tires, in announcing Mr. Robbins' resignation after a 26-year career with the firm.
Goodyear has named Ed Gallagher, formerly vice president of retail stores, to succeed Mr. East-wood as vice president of replacement sales, a position Mr. Gallagher held from 1991-1993.
In addition, the company has named Debra Walker as director of a newly-created retail systems tactical business unit. Ms. Walker, previously manager of dealer sales for Goodyear's San Francisco district, will report to Mr. Eastwood.
