Show to eye repair, hiring tips
TOPEKA, Kan.-Tips on hiring and motivating employees will be offered during one of several seminars slated for the Kansas Tire Dealers Association annual convention, March 11-12, at the Century 2 Exhibition Hall in Wichita.
Other seminars will focus on puncture and section repair methods, causes of tire wear and prevention of tire failures.
Keynote speaker Paul Samborski, a regional sales director for Dunlop Tire Corp., will review the state of the tire industry.

Seminar to discuss morale issues
DENHAM SPRINGS, La.-Tire dealers will hear how they can develop an effective employee relations program during the Louisiana Independent Tire Dealers Association convention, March 10-11, at the Landmark Hotel & Convention Center in Metairie.
David Tudor of SESCO Management Consultants will conduct a three-hour seminar on how dealers can motivate their employees to increase dealership profitability.
Don Dobbs of Dobbs Tire & Auto Centers, High Ridge, Mo., and past president of the National Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association, will explain what dealers can do to meet challenges in their businesses. The convention also will feature a panel discussion on the state's scrap tire problems.

Seminar to discuss morale issues
LONDON, Ontario-The Ontario Tire Dealers Association elected Ron Spiewak of Northumberland Tire, Port Hope, to a two-year term as president during the group's convention, Jan. 26-28, in Niagara Falls.
The OTDA also installed Don Frisby of Frisby Tire, Ottawa, as first vice president.
The association did not install a successor to fill the vacancy in the office of second vice president.
The OTDA has slated its next convention for 1997 in Ottawa.
N.C. show to air business issues
CAROLINA BEACH, N.C.-Dealers will learn how to make effective use of small claims court during the combined convention of the North Carolina Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association and the Virginia Tire & Automotive Service Dealers Association, March 17-19 at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center, Research Triangle Park, N.C.
Other seminars will discuss financial management and improving employee relations.
The convention also will feature a panel discussion with several warehouse distributors who service North Carolina and Virginia dealers.
In addition, attendees will tour Bridgestone/Firestone Inc.'s tire plant in Wilson, N.C.
