TIRE TRENDS: COOPER

    Trendsetter SE Radial: passenger, value-priced, steel-belted radial. Features: 40,000-mile limited treadwear warranty; UTQG rating-360 BB (except P155/80R13-340 BB); four circumferential grooves for water/slush dispersion; squared-off, variable-pitched tread elements for improved grip and quiet running; high-mileage tread cap compound supported by highly resilient base compound for improved durability and fuel-efficiency.

    Sizes: range of 70-, 75- and 80-series sizes, most with white sidewalls.

    El Dorado

    Golden Fury GFT: passenger, all-season touring radial.

    Features: combines state-of-the art design with ultra-competitive pricing, company said.

    Sizes: range of popular 70-se-ries sizes, with either blackwall or wide whitewall styling.

    Falken

    75- and 80-series line (no specific model name): passenger, all-season radial.

    Features: engineered for smoother, quieter, more comfortable ride; steel-belted; tread pattern retains main image design for up to 80 percent of tread life.

    Sizes: 10, from P165/80R13 to P235/75R15.

    Goodyear

    Aquatred II: passenger, all-season, wet-traction radial.

    Features: deeper, reshaped water-evacuating aqua-channel area 15 percent greater than original Aquatred; steeper channels on aqua-channel shoulder to maintain wet traction; half-worn channel increased by 62 percent vs. Aquatred; new tread pattern and longer-lasting tread compound; 65,000-mile limited treadwear warranty (5,000 miles more than Aquatred).

    Sizes: 14, from P175/70R13 to P215/65R15; some sizes in black sidewall, others in white sidewall styling, depending upon size.

    Initial shipments for the Aquatred II will begin in March.

    Unisteel G177: heavy-duty truck radial.

    New sizes: tube-type-10.00R20, load range (LR) G and H; 11.00R20 and 11.00R22, both LR H; and 12.00R24, LR J.

    Tubeless-11R22.5 and 11R24.5, LR G and H; and 12R22.5 and 12R24.5, both LR H.

    Hankook

    819: light truck radial.

    New sizes: five 14-inch and two 16-inch sizes-all 75-series; all load range C.

    Z35A: truck, deep-tread, all-weather, on-road, drive-axle radial.

    New sizes: nine conventional sizes-including 10.00R20 and 11R24.5-added to the four initially available low-profile sizes.

    Mastercraft

    A/S IV: passenger, value-priced all-season radial.

    New sizes: range of 70-series sizes added to current 75-/80-series offerings.

    Remington

    Wide Brute A/W: light truck, all-season radial.

    Features: S speed rating; 50,000-mile limited treadwear warranty; designed mainly for on-road driving, but with wide look and ground clearance of an all-terrain tire; wide, high-strength steel belts; 16/32-inch-deep tread designed for enhanced wet grip; multiple cross-cut sipes and a ``dimensionally stable polyester'' casing for more comfortable ride.

    Sizes: range of LT flotation and LT metric sizes, all with outline white letter styling.

    Toyo

    Open Country: light truck, on-highway, all-season radial.

    Features: S speed rating (P-metric sizes); M+S rating; UTQG rating-380 AB; cap/base con-struction for improved durability and fuel efficiency; wide steel belt; tread designed to promote even wear, improve wet traction and ride comfort, and reduce noise.

    Sizes:five P-metric sizes, P195/75R14 to P235/75R15; LT215/75R15; LT235/75R15; 30x9.50R15; and 31x10.50R15.
