NASHVILLE, Tenn.-Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. has announced a number of upper management promotions attributed to the ``tremendous growth'' of its businesses, the company said. John K. Gamauf and Walter J. Weller have become division vice presidents in charge of consumer tire dealer sales and truck tire sales, respectively.
Shuichi Ishibashi and Mike Fujimura have been promoted to BFS executive directors.
Mr. Gamauf, formerly executive director of consumer tire dealer sales, joined Firestone in 1969.
In 1990, he headed the team that developed BFS's Affiliated Dealer Program, which the company said now includes more than 650 dealers.
Mr. Weller joined Bridgestone U.S.A. in 1982 as a passenger tire territory manager in New Jersey. He served as general manager of North American operations for BFS's parent firm, Bridgestone Corp., and director of retail operations prior to becoming director of truck tire sales in 1992. He held that position until his recent promotion.
Mr. Ishibashi has become executive director of consumer tire marketing for BFS Tire Sales Co. (BFTS). He joined Bridgestone in 1977, moving to the company's U.S. subsidiary in 1989. He was director of consumer tire marketing for BFTS and director of strategic marketing for BFS's American Tire and Service Co. (AMTS) before his recent appointment.
Mr. Fujimura has been appointed executive director of AMTS. He joined Bridgestone in 1967 and transferred to Akron in 1989. Prior to his appointment, he was director of BFS commercial tire marketing.

Brandon Stotsenburg, to consumer regional general manager for the company's western region-was area sales manager in Pittsburgh.
