DALLAS-Celebrating its 25th anniversary, ASA Corp. used the 74th National Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association convention in Dallas to announce its latest tire dealer software offering and an expanded list of hardware that can operate the firm's programs. The Nashua, N.H.-based company released its CatMax II parts catalog and labor guide software, providing more than 2 million parts available for foreign and domestic vehicles built since 1967, according to Wayne Croswell, general manager of ASA's Tire Systems Group. The company will provide monthly updates to the catalog on compact disc or tape.
The program's labor estimating guide also provides skill-level rankings for jobs, Mr. Croswell said during a Sept. 10 press conference at the Dallas Convention Center.
``It's totally there, all the stuff they have to do, so they don't forget an important step,'' he said.
CatMax II is ``fully integrated'' with ASA's TireMax 2000 software, automatically updating work orders with tire, parts and labor guide information, Mr. Croswell added.
ASA also announced it entered an agreement earlier this year with Hewlett-Packard, the second-largest computer manufacturer in the U.S., that enables ASA's software to run on HP hardware.
