AKRON-Goodyear and Michelin Tires (Canada) Ltd. have announced expansion projects in Canada. Michelin will spend about $2.2 million (U.S.) over the next 15 months to boost truck tire production capacity 7.5 percent at its plant in Waterville, Nova Scotia.
Meanwhile, Goodyear plans to invest $20.2 million to build a 34,500-sq.-ft. rubber-mixing facility, including a new Banbury mixer, at its passenger tire plant in Napanee, Ontario. The facility should be operational by next September.
