TIRE BUSINESS' fifth annual survey of the largest commercial dealerships in North America helps keep a tab on the industry. Here's what the survey found was on the minds of executives at four of the largest commercial dealerships: `Because we don't rely totally on our commercial business, we are able to go into markets others might avoid because we know they are going to turn around.'
Jerry Fletcher
Fletcher's Cobre Tire
`We are in a solid position right now-we have a good core base of people, the crops are looking fantastic this year, we have aggressive marketing plans. I think...we'll do 10 to 11 percent (sales growth in 1994) pretty easily.'
Jerry Bauer
Bauer Built Inc.
`We don't see any negatives on the horizon. As long as the manufacturing base stays pretty strong, we'll be in a good position.'
John Snider
Snider Tire Inc.
`Qualified people (to work in the dealership) are difficult to find, and competition has increased dramatically.'
J.D. Chastain
Redburn Tire
