FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.-Perry Brothers Tire Service, an independent Goodyear dealership, has retained Hodges Associates Inc., a Fayetteville-based advertising, marketing and public relations firm.
Sanford, N.C.-based Perry Brothers, which has been family owned and operated for more than 60 years, has 11 full-service Goodyear outlets in the North Carolina cities of Aberdeen, Dunn, Henderson, Oxford, Rockingham, Southern Pines, Wilmington as well as Sanford.
Hodges is currently developing a print, radio and television image campaign for the dealership that will be released later this year, the marketing company said.
Raybestos backing driver in SCCA series
McHENRY, Ill.-Raybestos/Brake Parts Inc. has expanded its role in the Sports Car Club of America Trans-Am series by sponsoring Dorsey Schroeder's Ford Mustang Cobra, provided by Tom Gloy Racing.
The aftermarket brake manufacturer is also a sponsor of the Rising Star of the Race program and the Raybestos Pole Award.
STP bottlers feature 40 years of racing
DANBURY, Conn.-As part of its 40th anniversary celebration, STP, a division of Danbury-based First Brands Corp., has introduced a collector's series of STP Oil Treatment bottles depicting moments in STP racing history.
Each 15-ounce, silver-label bottle contains a full-color photograph from STP's racing history, including Gordon Johncock's narrow victory over Rick Mears at the Indianapolis 500 in 1972 and Richard Petty's 200th career win, garnered at the Daytona Firecracker 400 in 1984.
Dealers off to Austria after BFS promotion
NASHVILLE, Tenn.-About 250 Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. dealers will be heading for Austria and Hungary, after successfully completing the tire maker's latest sales program.
Earlier this year, Bridgestone, Firestone, Seiberling and house brand dealers participating in the ``Passport '94'' program were assigned one of four program purchase volume categories, based on their tire purchase histories.
Dealers who met their purchase quotas between September and April received tickets for an Oct. 8-16 vacation to the two countries, a spokesman said.
General launches ads for Trelleborg tires
AKRON-General Tire has launched a print advertising campaign to support its new line of forestry tires. The campaign is headlined, ``General and Trelleborg, The New Force in the Forest.''
The full-page, color ads highlight General's recent agreement to distribute Trelleborg Twin Forestry tires through its U.S. and Canadian tire dealers.
The ads first appeared in May and will run in the June and July issues of eight forestry trade publications.
The company said it expects to run a second round of advertisements this fall.
Proxes H4 highlighted in new Toyo brochure
COMPTON, Calif.-Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corp. has released a brochure featuring a chart comparing its Proxes H4 all-season touring radial to ``comparable'' Bridgestone, Michelin and Goodyear tires.
The brochure compares UTQG ratings, mileage warranties and other facts.
The pamphlet also features a list of popular vehicle fitments, a size and specifications chart, warranty information and a cross-section drawing of the Proxes H4.
