FULLERTON, Calif.-Yokohama Tire Corp. has unveiled the first tire in a new line of value-priced high performance tires-the AVID (Advanced Vehicle Integrated Design) MD-H4. The unidirectional tire features a Multiple Gripping Point tread design that uses three primary and two secondary circumferential grooves to enhance road grip and to disperse water effectively-even as contact pressures shift during cornering, the company said.
The all-season, H-rated AVID MD-H4 has a UTQG treadwear rating of 300, an A traction rating and a 40,000-mile limited treadwear warranty.
The new tire is available initially in eight 60-series and three 65-series sizes.
Eventually, seven 70-series sizes will be added, bringing the line to a total of 18 sizes.
