ANAHEIM, Calif.-The California Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association-South has responded to the surge in Hispanic-owned tire dealerships in the state by including a Spanish section in its monthly newsletter. The CTDRA-South said it wants to make Spanish-speaking members and prospective members feel more welcome by including in its newsletters translations of selected articles on CTDRA events and benefits and on regulations affecting dealerships.
Sergio Rivera of InterState Tire Distributors, City of Commerce, Calif., has been providing the translations for the newsletter since the March issue.
The CTDRA-South is also considering organizing a Latino chapter for new Hispanic tire dealers, Executive Director Ed Cohn said. Many are immigrants, new to the tire business and often involved in selling used tires. ``We are going to try to bring them in as members because they are going to need some help,'' Mr. Cohn said.
