The Infra-Rez Model TR tubular radiant heaters manufactured by Reznor, a division of Thomas & Betts Corp., provide both infrared spot and space heating that affects only non-reflective surfaces, such as skin, according to the company. Reznor said the heaters provide heat only where it is needed in a service shop, thereby reducing energy costs.

Key drop box
Ready Fixtures has introduced the Early Bird drop box for auto service retailers, enabling customers to drop off keys after hours.
The box is designed with an envelope slot that drops keys into a receiving tray, all-steel construction and a rainwater trough that prevents moisture from entering the unit.
A security baffle prevents theft, the company said.

Hennessy Industries Inc. said its AMMCO Model 3850 combination drum/disc lathe has the ``fastest spindle speed on the market,'' at 300 rpm.
The Model 3850, which can convert from drums to rotors, has a single hand-wheel operation, a twin cutter tool that simultaneously resurfaces both sides of a rotor and a high-torque motor with solid-state starter.

The Motor & Control Division of Pacific Scientific Co. has introduced its 2,400-watt electronic inverter to complement its Redi-Line generator for mobile and remote applications.
The Redi-Line model DA12I-2400Q inverter operates from 12-volt DC vehicle batteries to run 120-volt AC, 60 Hz power tools and other electrical equipment where commercial power is not available. The unit emits no fumes and can be mounted on a tire service truck.

Hunter Engineering Co. has released WinAlign, a Microsoft Windows-based version of its wheel alignment system for use on the company's Series 211 consoles.
WinAlign allows technicians to leave the alignment program at any time to access other programs and procedures loaded into the computer, then return to the same spot in the alignment program.
Included in the package is the company's expanded SHIM-SELECT program that now includes front as well as rear shims.
