RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif.-Gertrude R. Crain, chairman of Crain Communications Inc., which publishes TIRE BUSINESS, has received the 1993-94 McAllister Fellowship. The fellowship, established by Geyer-McAllister Publications, is given annually by the American Business Press to a top executive of a member company.
The fellowship recipient acts as a teacher and adviser on the Medill Magazine Project at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.
In accepting the award, Mrs. Crain said her late husband, G.D. Crain Jr., founder of Crain Communications, ``would have been particularly pleased with this honor because he was so totally committed to the development and nurturing of the business press.''
Mrs. Crain currently sits on the boards of the International Advertising Association, the National Press Foundation and the Advertising Council of New York. She also is associated with the Magazine Publishers of America and the Museum of Broadcast Communications.
