MANASSAS, Va.-Merchant's Inc., a 130-store independent dealership based in Manassas, has named four vice presidents and one senior vice president. George E. Loney, previously vice president of finance and chief financial officer, is now senior vice president, CFO and treasurer. He is responsible for all financial activities of the company, including the areas of management information systems and warehousing and distribution.
James R. Cato was promoted from director of finance to vice president of finance, responsible for development and operation of the company's financial systems and all financial and tax reporting.
Carl H. Dunn Jr., previously director of auto parts, is now vice president, parts, responsible for purchasing and distribution, including Merchant's 44,000-sq.-ft. parts warehouse.
Lee J. Fishkin has been named vice president, purchasing, responsible for purchasing and control of the company's tire and tube inventory. He had been general manager, distribution and purchasing.
Paul Hawkins, former management information systems director, has been promoted to vice president, management information systems.
His responsibilities include establishing, maintaining and monitoring the links between corporate headquarters and Merchant's 130 locations, which extend from Pittsburgh to Durham, N.C.
