SEOUL, South Korea-Woosung Industrial Co. Ltd. has changed its name to Woosung Tire Corp. to reflect its increased involvement in the tire business, the company said. During 1994, Woosung Tire will establish branch offices in the Middle East, Europe and the U.S., according to the company, which had sales of $180 million in 1992.
Bridgestone ends venture
TOKYO-Bridgestone Corp. and Belgium's N.V. Bekaert S.A. have terminated their 24-year joint venture, Bridgestone Bekaert Steel Cord Co. The partners ended the pact because Bekaert's close relationship with Bridgestone is likely to influence its business with other tire makers, the tire maker said.
