HIGHLAND BEACH, Fla.-Jerome M. Wiener, 77, former owner and president of Bob Wiener Tire Co. in Springfield, Mass., died of cancer Sept. 28 in Baystate Medical Center in Highland Beach. Mr. Wiener acquired the operation of Bob Wiener Tire in 1965 when his father, Robert, who opened the dealership in 1910, died. The company, which operates in Massachusetts and Connecticut, has six retail outlets and one Bandag retread plant.
Mr. Wiener was a former member of the National Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association.
Survivors include his wife, Irma; son, Michael, owner of Bob Wiener Tire; a daughter; and two grandchildren.
John Misskey
REGINA, Saskatchewan-John Misskey, a founding member of the Western Canadian Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association, died of a heart attack Nov. 30 at his home in Regina. He was 78.
In 1932, he started Central Tire & Battery Service Inc. in his parents' garage in Glen Elm Park. Five years later, he moved the business to Regina.
Mr. Misskey was honored by the WCTDRA at its silver anniversary celebration in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 1987.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; son, William John; daughter, Mary Ruth Bandas; and three grandsons, including Kelly Bandas, who currently operates Central Tire.
