COMPTON, Calif.-Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corp. expanded its marketing department, effective Jan. 1, to improve its efforts with dealers and distributors, according to Rick Sirko, director of advertising. The expansion allows the department to provide ``better programs, materials and services to our dealers,'' Mr. Sirko said.
As part of the restructuring, Toyo has expanded the marketing staff by three and appointed a new head to the department.
Mitsuhiko Fujiyama, former vice president of sales and marketing coordination, has been given command of the department as vice president of marketing.
In addition to his appointment, Vice President of Dealer Development Norm McNiel, Marketing Manger Joe Jordan and Promotion Manger Roy Dencklau have each joined the department.
Mr. McNiel, formerly vice president of passenger tires, will now handle dealer development; Mr. Jordan, formerly high performance manager, will handle sales training and coordinate passenger, light truck and truck product information with Japan; and Mr. Dencklau, who had directed professional motorsports activities as motorsports manger for a number of years, assumes responsibility for grassroots racing and will assist in sales promotions.
Mr. Sirko, former director of marketing, is now responsible for advertising, public relations and sales promotion as director of advertising. Former regional manager Hal Sloat, now serving as marketing coordinator, will provide competitive analyses from the field. Kim Greenwalt will continue to handle marketing administration functions.
Mr. Sirko said the department will begin a number of new marketing programs April 1.
