DENHAM SPRINGS, La.-Environmental issues and warehouse club competition are among the subjects dealers will discuss during the Louisiana Independent Tire Dealers Association convention, May 13-14, at the Landmark Hotel in Metairie, a suburb of New Orleans. In addition to an address by Lee Fiedler, president of Kelly-Springfield Tire Co., the convention will feature Don Wilson of the National Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association, who will discuss how environmental issues will impact tire dealers, and an Iowa State University economics professor, Kenneth Stone, who will conduct a two-hour seminar on how dealers can compete with warehouse clubs.
The LITDA also is offering an incentive for attendees to visit the two-day trade show. Those who visit every exhibitor's booth and receive the booth's stamp on their registration slips, will get a chance to win a trip to Acapulco, Mexico.
Executive Director Norman Rhea said the association is extending an invitation to dealers in Mississippi and Alabama to participate in the convention.
