YORK, S.C.-Champion Laboratories Inc.'s York manufacturing plant has been recommended for ISO 9002 certification, which, if approved, would make it the first U.S. automotive filter maker to achieve the quality recognition. The ISO 9000 Series standard-established by the International Organization for Standardization in Geneva, and adopted by over 80 countries-is designed to provide a framework for documenting quality procedures that are internationally accepted.
Champion makes automotive and heavy-duty air, oil, gasoline, transmission and diesel fuel filters for various uses, including in autos, on- and off-road heavy trucks and farm machinery.
Pennzoil promo features NCAA trip
HOUSTON-Pennzoil Products Co. has become a 1994 corporate sponsor of the National Collegiate Athletic Association men's basketball championships.
The company planned to launch a special promotion Feb. 7, dubbed ``NCAA Four to the Final Four,'' which will run through April 4.
Prizes will include two trips-one for a retailer, the other for an installer-to the basketball championship, and NCAA T-shirts for all employees of winning stores. In-store promotions are available.
