It's hard to believe that another month has passed — and there is so much to talk about.
First things first: In mid-May, Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) launched the initial L4 (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) exam.
Yes. It's 80 questions.
Yes. You will need the three hours to take the exam.
Like all ASE exams, the questions posed are to evaluate proficiency on the test subject. The L4 is no exception.
And like the other advanced exams, there is a corresponding workbook that goes along with the questioning; copying the L3 format, this book is strictly online within the parameters of the test.
Unlike other ASE exams, there is precious little official subject matter study guides. Therefore, those who have watched calibration/recalibration videos from qualified sources or have performed these resets have an advantage over those taking the test "cold." (Hint, hint.)
Are there any other similarities between L4 and present-day exams? Like turning wrenches in the bay, all ASE tests are based in common sense. A huge factor to success.
