LAS VEGAS — The 2022 SEMA Show and concurrent Automotive Aftermarket Parts Expo (AAPEX), which kick off the first week of November in Las Vegas, will bring visitors opportunities to expand their knowledge on advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
The SEMA Show is set for Nov. 1-4 at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC). AAPEX — co-owned by the Auto Care Association (ACA) and the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA), the light vehicle aftermarket division of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) — runs Nov. 1-3 at at the the Venetian Convention and Expo Center (formerly the Sands Expo).

- How to Open and Operate a Successful ADAS Services and Calibration Business — Nov. 1, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. in room S229. This session covers the opportunities, challenges, sales, marketing, and operational requirements needed to open and operate a successful and profitable ADAS service and calibration business. $100 on-site/$75 in advance.
- The Importance of Wheel Alignment in ADAS Recalibration for Collision Centers — Nov. 2, 3 to 5 p.m. in S229. Presenters Charles Searles and Christopher Sobieski of Snap-on Equipment offer a deep dive into the critical relationship between the vehicle centerline and the importance of wheel alignment as it relates to ADAS recalibration. $100on-site/$75 in advance.
- ADAS and the Modified Vehicle — Nov. 3, 9 to10 a.m. in N256. A panel of experts will talk about safely modifying modern vehicles and the tools and resources needed.
AAPEX opportunities:
- ADAS: The Coming Wave of Aftermarket Opportunity — Nov. 1, 3 p.m. on the AAPEX stage. A presentation on the potential market for calibration services and replacement components as well as issues that need to be addressed.
- ADAS Systems and Calibrations for the Diagnostic Technician — Nov. 3, 9:30 a.m. to noon, at Repair Shop HQ Training Room 2. A training seminar for technicians focused on the functions of ADAS components, how they integrate into the ADAS systems as well as the tools and setup requirements needed to perform ADAS calibrations. $50.
