QUINCY, Ill. — Titan International Inc. partnered in mid-July with the Tire Industry Association (TIA) to provide advanced agricultural and OTR service training to Titan dealers.
The ag sessions took place July 12-16 at Titan's training facility in Boone, Iowa, and the OTR sessions took place at Stellar Industries in Garner, Iowa. Both ag and OTR sessions included a mix of classroom and hands-on training. Courses were taught by Matthew White, director of tire service for TIA.
"At Titan, safety and proper training is our top priority," Paul Hawkins, Titan's vice president of aftermarket sales, said.
"Through partnerships with TIA we can help equip our dealer network with the best resources to do their job safely while also providing the best service possible to customers."
After the week-long training session, attendees received course participation. To finalize the TIA certificate of completion, participants were required to complete additional testing and submit approval from management at their respective dealerships.
"We are happy we could lend a hand with the Tire Industry Association training class again this year," according to Travis Glidden, who works at Stellar Industries and served as an OTR tire service instructor.
"We've been assisting the TIA by being a host facility since 2016 and have seen the value in advanced hands-on farm/Ag and earthmover tire service training for tire technicians. It's amazing seeing a technician's demeanor from the first day of class to the last day change with renewed enthusiasm about their career and how excited they are to put this new knowledge to use."
