LAS VEGAS — Alliance Tire Americas Inc. has added and L-4 skid-steer tire and a low aspect-ratio telehandler tire to its Galaxy-brand industrial tire line-up.

The skid-steer tire, the Mighty Trac ND, is designed for use on loose soils, snow and pavement, Alliance said, while the Giraffe ND telehandler tire is described as a "high-efficiency" tire for on- and off-paved job sites, Alliance said.

Both new products were unveiled at the ConExpo/CONAGG show in Las Vegas, which runs through March 14.

The Mighty Trac ND's siped block tread design and 52:48 rubber-to-void ratio combine traction on dirt and snow with wear resistance on the road, making it suitable for municipalities, rental companies and general contractors whose skid-steers encounter a wide range of conditions on the job, Ryan Lopes, ATA national product manager – materials handling and solid tires, said.

The open, non-aligned lug pattern on the shoulders of the Mighty Trac provide extra grip in soft conditions and self-cleaning, while the heavy, stepped centerline blocks offer smooth roading and minimize wear. Sipes in every tread block enhance performance in the snow. A special cut-, chip- and abrasion-resistant compound and reinforced sidewall with a rim protector extend tire life, according to ATA.

"We also designed the Galaxy Mighty Trac ND as a non-directional tire," Mr. Lopes said, "which enhances performance in both directions and simplifies change-out for large fleets because there's no 'wrong way' to mount the tire.

"We have worked closely with our customers in the field to address the real-world challenges they face and deliver a tire that will perform and last through whatever their equipment is faced with."

The Mighty Trac ND is one of a dozen Galaxy-brand designs Alliance offers for skid-steers.

The Giraffe ND is designed for 28-inch rims, although its low aspect ratio means it can replaces the 13.00-24 and 14.00-24 sizes commonly seen on telehandlers, Mr. Lopes said.

"That low aspect ratio allows us to create a lower, sturdier sidewall for extra stability, and reduces the volume of the tire, which saves money for owners who foam-fill their telehandler tires."

The Giraffe ND also features a deep, non-directional tread pattern that provides traction in both forward and reverse travel, Mr. Lopes said, adding the open shoulders enhance the tire's self-cleaning ability and its heat-resistant compound helps reduce temperature build-up under heavy loads and long days on the job.

Giraffe ND launches in a pair of 14-ply-rated sizes — 370/75-28 and 400/75-28 — and complements four existing telehandler fitments Alliance offers.
