Conti adding larger sizes to pair of ag tire lines

HANOVER, Germany — Continental A.G. is adding larger sizes to its TractorMaster and CompactMaster agricultural and industrial/earthmoving tire product lines in part to satisfy growing demand for bigger and more technologically advanced tires.

The new sizes are 600/70R34 in the TractorMaster line and 500/70R24 in the CompactMaster line. The new sizes are available worldwide, the company said.

The new TractorMaster size not only complements the existing range but can also be used as a front tire in combination with other specific tire sizes, Conti said. A 620/70R42 size is in the works as well as a rear tire option.

The new CompactMaster size complements the line's existing 460/70R24 size, providing more options for telehandlers in different operating conditions. The CompactMaster AG is designed for agricultural applications such as field operations, while the CompactMaster EM is tailored for hard-surface logistics tasks.

The launch of the larger sizes reflects a trend toward larger vehicles and diverse operational requirements, Ivonne Bierwirth, head of business field agricultural tires, said.

"With our portfolio out of our plant in Portugal, we are looking for products that address current trends and challenges within the industry to support efficient agricultural work," Bierwith said.

"Farmers will benefit from our tailor-made selection suitable for diverse conditions." The focus remains on damage- and cut resistance, as well as lifetime and fuel savings as key factors in tires total cost of ownership.

Conti announced the new sizes in connection with its participation at the Agritechnica agricultural trade show in Hanover, scheduled for Nov. 12-15, where Conti will showcase technologies under the slogan: "Our Smart Farming. For your harvest of tomorrow." Continental's booth will feature AI-based systems, autonomous mobile robots, sensors and tire technologies.
