WATERBURY, Conn. — VIP Tires & Service has expanded its footprint throughout New England to a fifth state, acquiring Joe's Tire Shop in Waterbury.
VIP's expansion into Connecticut brings the company's store count to 70 locations across five New England states.
Joe's Tire Shop has been in operation for more than 95 years and has been operating for at least the past five years under the Tire Pros umbrella. Owner Rich DiBeneditto said he chose to sell to VIP because of its family feel and dedication to excellence, according to a news release.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Auburn, Maine-based VIP will add its full suite of automotive services to the Waterbury location, with DiBeneditto and his employees joining the VIP staff.
VIP said it is training ASE-certified technicians at other locations to eventually join the Waterbury team.
"State by state, VIP has become a household name in New England, and we couldn't be more excited to enter the Connecticut market," VIP President and CEO Tim Winkeler said.
"Honoring the nearly 100-year legacy of Joe's Tire Shop, VIP looks forward to serving the people of Waterbury and other Connecticut residents, working with the current Joe's crew to build on customer relationships that have been cultivated for decades."
