WALLINGFORD, Conn. — VIP Tires & Service has acquired 41-year-old Wallingford Tire & Auto.
The acquisition expands VIP's footprint to 76 locations throughout Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont.
Wallingford Tire's owner John Bonini, a four-time NAPA ASE Master Technician of the Year winner, will stay on as VIP's general manager.
The facility, located at 400 North Colony St. in Wallingford, has five service bays.
"Wallingford is a great town for VIP with almost 45,000 residents, and John Bonini has built a great business at this location," Tim Winkeler, VIP's president and CEO, said.
"Our team members plan on being very involved in the local community and carrying on John's tradition of giving back and helping others."
This is VIP's second Connecticut acquisition in seven days. On Feb. 6, VIP announced the purchase of Tires International, a 10,366 sq.-ft. facility with 16 bays in Manchester.
