MARSHFIELD, Mass. — VIP Tires & Service has acquired Marshfield Tire & Auto Service Center in Marshfield, which began operating June 1 as VIP Tires' fifth location in Massachusetts.
Several of the Marshfield Tire staff are remaining with VIP, and the store is undergoing renovations, the dealership said. VIP is planning a ribbon-cutting event for June 21.
"Joe Bird and Carl Waterfield, owners of Marshfield Tire, have done a great job servicing the Marshfield community for over 23 years. Their service excellence was the main catalyst that attracted me to their business and ultimately lead to our acquisition," John Quirk, executive chairman of VIP Tires, said.
Auburn, Maine-based VIP Tires operates nearly 70 locations in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont. Each store is staffed with ASE- and TIA-certified automotive professionals seven days a week.
"Countless customers are relying on VIP for tires and service, and our recent store opening in Marshfield will allow us to serve even more New Englanders," Tim Winkeler, president and CEO, said.
"From northern Maine to western Vermont, and now down into southern Massachusetts, VIP's certified automotive professionals provide superior service to our customers. I'm proud of all our VIP team members, and we welcome Marshfield Tire's team members to the VIP family.
"One of our top priorities is to expand across the South Shore, filling the gaps in VIP's service footprint that currently exist in places like Plymouth County. This is another important step in executing our growth strategy."
As part of the Marshfield store ribbon-cutting ceremony, VIP will be conducting its "Oil Changes for Education" program, which runs until July 15, offering $10 oil changes, with 100% of the proceeds going to the local school community.
VIP is also running a new-tire deal, offering $50 off the purchase of any four tires for three months (June through August).
