DULUTH, Ga. — Fox Factory Inc., a purveyor of vehicle lift kits and other vehicle modification components, has struck a deal to buy Custom Wheel House L.L.C. (CWH), the Rancho Dominguez-based parts distributor whose businesses include Tensor Tires and Method Race Wheels.
Duluth-based Fox Factory called the acquisition "complementary" to its existing upfitting and lift-kit business and said it "further broadens" its product offering in a growing segment of the automotive industry.
Fox Factory "believes (the acquisition) presents a substantial vertical integration and collaborative opportunity, …" Fox Factory CEO Mike Dennison said. "This will further expand our performance-defining aftermarket solutions with the additions of high-performance wheels and performance off-road tires.
"When pushing the limits of ride dynamics, expanding the company's expertise from suspension to wheels and tires is a natural evolution," Dennison added. "We welcome the experienced Custom Wheel House leadership team and believe they will play an integral part in the company's growth going forward."
CWH designs, markets and distributes a range of products geared toward owners of off-road performance vehicles.
Founded in 2010, Method Race Wheels designs, develops and distributes high performance wheels and accessories for race and street applications.
The Tensor line comprises lines of ATV, UTV and light truck tires focused heavily on off-road competition — including sand drag racing — and serious off-roading aficionados. CWH offers tire and wheel packages as well, including packages with bead-grip and bead-lock features.
