WASHINGTON, Mo. — Telle Tire & Auto Centers has acquired two dealerships — Shore Tire in Lenexa, Kan., and Miller Tire of Mexico, Mo. — expanding the tire dealership to 30 locations in Missouri, Illinois and, now, Kansas.
Shore Tire opened its doors in 1946 as a wholesale distributor and grew its business that includes retail. Shore was owned and operated by third-generation owner Chris Shore.
"We are very excited to partner with Chris and the Shore Tire family. I am grateful for the opportunity, and we are committed to being great stewards of the business, ensuring to preserve customer and associate relationships," CEO Aaron Telle said, noting his company will will retain all 19 employees.
"This acquisition is extra special as it marks entrance into the Kansas market, which creates great opportunity for us as we continue to look at expanding further into the Kansas market," Telle said.
The acquisition includes a 15,000-sq.-ft. tire warehouse.
"With the addition of 15,000 square feet to our warehouse, we are significantly enhancing our ability to build a robust internal distribution model. This expansion marks a pivotal moment for our company, enabling us to optimize our operations and better serve our customers. We are truly excited about the opportunities that lie ahead."
Miller Tire has been in business for over 70 years in central Missouri and has been run by Mike and Leslie Miller.
"We could not be happier with the acquisition of the Miller Tire family and look forward to providing the same great service and providing great value to the customers in Mexico, Mo.," Telle said.
