MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. — Telle Tire & Auto Centers has expanded its footprint in the St. Louis metro area again, acquiring Car-Doc Automotive & Tire in Maryland Heights.
Car-Doc, owned and operated by Mark Schenberg, opened in 1989. In 2015, he built an 11,000-sq.-ft. facility with 10 service bays where the company operates today.
The deal expands Telle Tire's network to 23 retail stores, including 13 in the St. Louis metro area. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"Car-Doc Automotive is a premier shop in the St. Louis market, and Telle is extremely proud to bring this brand into the company portfolio," Telle Tire said.
"Car-Doc has created a following for specialized repairs and has a strong presence in electric and hybrid vehicle repair services. The addition of Car-Doc expands the Telle footprint in these segments, positioning the company to be more prepared for the on-going technological advancements of automotive repair."
Car-Doc has built a loyal customer following through its fleet expertise, along with hybrid and electric vehicle services and complicated diagnostics, Telle Tire said.
This purchase marks the third acquisition and fifth new store location this year for the Webster Groves, Mo.-based dealership.
Telle Tire now has 23 locations throughout Missouri and in Illinois, operating under five brands: Telle Tire; Car-Doc Automotive in Maryland Heights; KC Complete Auto & Tire in Kansas City, Mo.; Auto Clinic in Lee's Summit, Mo.; plus a single location in Illinois, Jerry's Tire Sales in Edwardsville.
