CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Driven Brands Inc.'s Take 5 Oil Change business is moving into Canada with the acquisition of 39 Pro Oil Change shops it plans to convert to the Take 5 Oil brand.
The move will affect franchises in four provinces, marking Take 5's first expansion outside of the U.S., according to the company. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Pro Oil Change, a retail franchise organization that began in 1996, operates oil change service locations in British Columbia, New Brunswick, Ontario and Prince Edward Island.
Danny Rivera, executive vice president and group president, Driven Brands' Retail Auto Service and president of Take 5 Oil Change, said Take 5 Oil Change is "committed to providing the best oil change experience in the market" and the company plans to ensure "our customers in Canada get just that."
The conversion of Pro Oil Change shops continues Take 5 Oil Change's growth across North America, through acquisitions, shop conversions and new franchise and company-owned store openings.
Late last year, Take 5 Oil Change celebrated the opening of its 500th store, a location in Covington, La.
In September, Take 5 Oil Change business acquired quick lube chains in Wisconsin and Texas that, together, operate 55 locations. The acquisitions included Fast Track Oil Change Centers with 27 locations in the Green Bay and Milwaukee markets and Express Automotive Group with 28 locations in the Houston market.
Take 5 Oil Change also does additional services, including wiper blade replacement, operational flushes, transmission services, tire rotations, seasonal tire changeovers, undercoating, power steering, and light bulbs changes.
