MESA, Ariz. — Sun Auto Tire & Service has expanded into North Carolina by acquiring four Tire Max Total Car Care locations.
Founded in 2003, Tire Max serves the greater Greensboro, N.C., area, operating 31 service bays across locations in Madison, Stokesdale, Sommerfield and High Point.
Sun Auto said the acquisition "highlights the brand's growing footprint in the Southeast United States," and continued investment in M&A.
Sun Auto said it has added 60 points-of-sale across the U.S. in the last 12 months, through a combination of acquisitions and strategic organic growth. It operates 485 locations.
"For over two decades, we have proudly served the Greensboro community, striving to exceed expectations with high-quality repairs and clear communication," Max Gardner, owner of Tire Max, said. "These are values that we share with Sun Auto, and we're confident their guidance will be crucial in helping us maintain our culture, reputation in the community, and ongoing opportunities for our valued team members."
Sun Auto Regional Vice President Michael Loa said guest satisfaction and transparency are top priorities for both businesses.
"The Tire Max team has a well-earned trusted reputation for excellence in service, which made them a natural choice when we looked to expand into North Carolina," Loa said. "We're excited to welcome the Tire Max team to the fold and bring together our strengths in a way that drives us all forward."
In August, Sun Auto acquired three Cecil & Sons Discount Tires stores in the greater Tulsa, Okla., area, and opened a Ramona Tire & Service Center location in Murrieta, Calif.
In June, Sun Auto nearly doubled its retail footprint in Texas with the acquisition of 33 Caliber Auto Care locations.
