AUSTIN, Texas — Sun Auto Tire & Service Inc. continues to grow in the Southwest, acquiring four McSpadden's Tire & Automotive locations in Austin.
The sale price of the acquisition was not disclosed.
Sun Auto Regional Vice President Jim Ramsey said the acquisition broadens the company's footprint and serves its customers better in the "dynamic" region. Sun now has operations serving Texas customers in Austin as well as in Houston and in the Dallas/Forth Worth metroplex.
"Acquisitions are the cornerstone of the Sun Auto Tire & Service growth strategy, and the strong community bonds McSpadden's has built over the past 20 years will further our mission to be the leading provider of quality aftermarket automotive repair, maintenance and tire services in the Southwest," Mr. Ramsey said in a statement.
These locations comprise 36 service bays, including a dozen at the Buda location and eight each at the Congress, Bee Cave and Wells Branch locations.
Family-owned McSpadden’s Tire has been in business in Austin since 1999.
The acquisition brings to 207 tire and service stores that Sun Auto operates in Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas.
Sun Auto Tire & Service Inc. acquired six locations in Texas earlier this spring and summer, including four shops in San Antonio that were part of Monro Inc.'s Car-X Tire & Auto network. The dealership, known as GB Automotive Service Inc. before rebranding, also took over a pair of Foundation Auto Repair shops, in Austin and Round Rock, Texas in a deal that closed April 23.
