BLOOMSBURG, Pa. — Steve Shannon Tire Co. has acquired three retail locations in the Albany, N.Y. from Tire Warehouse Inc.
The acquisitions were finalized on Jan. 7. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Founded in 1982 by John McCall, Tire Warehouse serves the Albany, N.Y., through locations in Clifton Park, Troy and Queensbury, N.Y. They will continue to offer full tire and mechanical services under Steve Shannon Tire's ownership, according to the dealership.
The stores, which will be rebranded, expand Steve Shannon Tire's footprint to 12 locations in New York and 41 overall throught three states.
Family-owned and -operated, Bloomsburg-based Steve Shannon Tire has eight wholesale distribution centers, a retread plant and 41 retail and commercial locations throughout New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. The dealership's 37 retail outlets make it the 33rd largest such independent dealership in the U.S.
All 35 Tire Warehouse employees have accepted positions and will stay on full time at their current locations, the company said.
Steve Shannon Tire's last acquisition was in March 2023 when it bought Buckley's Tire in Horseheads, N.Y. The dealership also opened two locations last year in Sunbury and Kingston, Pa.
"Our acquisition strategy is just looking for a good business or current owners with no exit strategy. We will look at anything and find a way to make it work, whether it is in our current footprint or not," the company told Tire Business.
